At present, Beihai, Qinzhou and Fangchenggang, three coastal cities in Beibu Gulf Economic Zone are accelerating integrating development in seven aspects, such as spatial layout, comprehensive transportation hub and port industrial system. In the future, this region will become the gateway hub for the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor and an important growth pole of high-quality development in Guangxi.
In recent years, Guangxi has speeded up the construction of a comprehensive transportation hub integrating Beihai, Qinzhou and Fangchnggang, boosting the International Gateway Port of the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor, with a focus on Qinzhou International Container Port and commodity distribution hub. At the same time, it has accelerated the formation of a modern port industrial system, developed modern services near the port and vigorously promoted all-in-one tourism in Beibu Gulf. In terms of improving the level of integrated public services, Guangxi coordinated common construction and shard interests of public services in key areas to improve people’s livelihood. Under the integrating development, the three ports of Beihai, Qinzhou and Fangcheng have gradually formed a positive interaction.
Moreover, in order to accelerate the construction of Beibu Gulf International Gateway Port, the 11th Pan-Beibu Gulf Economic Cooperation Forum and 2020 Beibu Gulf International Gateway Port Cooperation Summit is scheduled to be held in Nanning, Guangxi, China on October 15, 2020. This year’s Forum, themed on “Focusing on International Gateway Port, Jointly Building New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor: A New Era of Pan-Beibu Gulf Cooperation”, will discuss series of up-to-date issues, including China-ASEAN joint efforts on the development of the international gateway port, and the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor, promotion of digital economy and marine economy, and the opportunities for PBG cooperation brought by the fully established China-ASEAN Free Trade Area at its 10th anniversary.
